Preteen/Teen Curriculum Coordinator

We are always searching for enthusiastic and excited dance educators ready to make a difference!  We are searching for positive mentors for the next generation! As Preteen/Teen Curriculum Coordinator, you will play an imperative leadership role in accomplishing NHAD's mission of offering top notch, professional instruction in the art of dance, helping lead our students to become great people through training in the art of dance and enriching our community.

 

This isn't your typical teaching job. We only hire outstanding people who are looking for a long term position and who want to play a role in impacting our students' lives. We are looking for members to lead our team of exceptional competition coaches who work closely together to create a positive and dynamic dance family!  We seek individuals who will be invested in the growth of our staff, students, community and team. If you're looking for a quick, low responsibility job that gets you in and out one or two nights a week, this is not the job for you.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Teaching dance lessons on a weekly basis with a fixed schedule.

  • Organizing syllabus material for ages 11 and up and distributing to staff.

  • Training staff on syllabus material.

  • Training student leaders and assistants.

  • Work closely with staff members who have expertise in specific genres to create engaging, fun, developmentally appropriate syllabus expectations.

  • Work toward creating an in-house examination program based on our syllabi.

  • Standards checks for syllabus material.

  • Creating exciting and fun ways to get our age 11 and up age dancers and families involved and connected.

  • Conceptualize and execute a holiday show for age 11 and up.

  • Choreographing and preparing students for performances

  • Providing student feedback.

  • Communicating with parents and team members on a regular basis.

  • Attending and working at studio events wherever needed.

  • Attending 2-3 yearly staff meetings.

  • Meeting deadlines with regard to music selection, costume selections.

  • Completing daily, weekly and monthly rhythms as presented.

 

Position Requirements

​

  • A love and connection to students age 11 and up.

  • Experience teaching middle and high school ages preferred.

  • Ability to understand, teach and organize syllabus material

  • Experience with RAD, Al Gilbert, Acrobatic Arts is a plus if applicable to your genres.

  • Additional certifications a plus.

  • Experience with Google Suite a plus: Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, etc.

  • Experience with Dropbox a plus.

  • Candidate must have excellent organization, effective verbal and written communication, creative and flexible teaching style, and an enthusiastic and warm approach with students.
